Hickok45 type 99 arisaka4/1/2024 ![]() ![]() IIRC, there are plenty of old, full-steel S&Ws in forty shorty if that's what you're going for. 45, probably with less capacity than The Nine, and with oddball mags to boot. They're just plain great! The only reason they cost so little is because we can import them directly from ex-combloc countries if we had to assemble them in the USA like we do with a bunch of AKMs, we'd probably be paying A LOT more.Īlso.40 1911? I may not be fond of the 1911 (damn the US Army and their grip safety folly), but making one in. 40 S&W?Ĭorolla? The SKS is a frikkin' Caddy! Good ergos, nice irons, pleasant recoil, easy to reload (for a gun with a fixed mag), good handling, all-machined parts, beautiful furniture even on service vets like mine (it's called "character", dammit), (relatively) inexpensive ammo, reasonable accuracy, reasonable noise and muzzle blast, easy to clean, tough, reliable, no tools needed for general work, no pins to accidentally drop with a simple field strip. Well it's hard not to have a following when you're the Toyota Corolla of guns.ĭo ya'll know of any good 1911s in. ![]()
